About Jill Marie
I was born in Philadelphia, so art has always inspired me. In 1996, my senior year of high school, I had the opportunity to practice dark room photography. Equipment was pricey back then and I didn't have the resources to get a camera and pursue my passion for being behind the lens. Life got busy with marriages, chasing three children, running a household as well as businesses. I have been a self taught, serial entrepreneur since 2003. 6 years ago, after closing my two boutiques down, I became depressed and was looking for something to occupy my mind and time. Thanks to my husband, I finally got my first digital camera in 2019.
At first, I dabbled with landscape and wildlife but soon found myself longing to add people into my work. I have been harassing family and friends, building my portfolio and skills ever since. Photography doesn't feel like work. I truly enjoy freezing time and the nostalgia that comes from a photograph. I love to take pictures of human connection. Candid moments are my favorite thing.
